Defense Outfitters is basically your old small-town family run blade and gear shop here in sunny Daytona Beach Florida. We have been around over 25 years and are proud to say that it has remained a family thing to this day. I’m Bryan McLaren the owner and son of the founder Gary McLaren who originally started us of many years ago under the name Knife Express at the Daytona Beach Flea market. We are still located there today, so if you find yourself in Daytona please drop on in and check out our little slice of life we call ours.
We have been very fortunate to make it through so many years of economic change in this country along with some crazy storms over the years that we were just certain would do us in. Since then, this whole debacle started with COVID and once again I was very anxious to see where things would take us. Fortunately, we have weathered through it all and are still here to enjoy what we love most!
Selling gear, pocket knives and self-defense equipment is in my blood. Always has been always will be. We are not a big box store nor do we ever expect to be as I honestly only have a desire to supply what is within my capable means. With that in mind I am grateful and appreciative of everyone that comes to this site and helps support this dream of mine. I realize that there is an extremely competitive market out there today and you can easily save a few bucks from buying from one of the bigger guys out there and you absolutely have that option. But for those of you that do and/or have chosen to shop with us here at Defense Outfitters please know that we are here to serve and care for you like one of our own. If you are looking for something I do not have I will do my best to point you in the direction of where you might be able to locate that item. If you have any concerns or suggestions on how we can improve what we are doing as a company I will receive your message and reply directly as soon as possible because I’ve always believed that we can all accomplish more together.
